We had quite an adventure on our field trip to the Carnegie Art Center to see the Ansel Adams exhibit on November 20th. Our traveling companions were Tracy Hagan, Marth Hogan and Virginia Courtney. We started out on a rather stormy looking day in November about 8:30 and drove over Pacheco Pass on our way to Los Bano. We had been told that a very interesting road from Los Banos up through the inner valley farmlands was much more interesting then I-5.
We are very proud to announce the publication of a book by our Independent Work Study Group entitled Journey Via Pixels. Jon O'Keefe is the photographer/graphic designer and the photographers are Virginia Courtney, Tracy Hagan, Martha Hogan, Jon O'Keefe, Marianne Glosenger, Barbara Moon Batista and Fernando Batista. The book can be viewed at www.magcloud.com and purchased in print or downloaded in pdf format. The goal of the class was to present a porfolio of images in a group of 10 that was focused on a theme or story.

VINTAGE PEONY 2011
We had the privilige to participate in the Mission San Antonio Workshop last April with Al Weber as staff and teachers. The setting was amazing. This mission is located near Fort Hunter Liggett in south Monterey County of CA. This site dates back to the early 1700's but currently is still operating as an active Catholic congregation as well as museum, gift shop and overnight campground and retreat center. It is located on 80 pristine acres next to the fort in the Valley of the Oaks on the Central Coast of California.
We were fortunate enough to participate in the San Antoio Mission Workshop in April of 2011 with Al Weber. This wonderful remote mission is a step back in time. It is located near Fort Hunter Liggett in south Monterey County. Located on eighty pristine acres on what was once the Milpitas unit of the sprawling Hear Ranch, Mission San Antonio de Padua sits within the "Valley of the Oaks" on California's scenic Central Coast.
This course is for the photographer who is completely mystified by f-stop, shutter speed, ISO, film speed, focal length, exposure, depth of field, focal length and lenses. This is a computer lab class and will be using specific assignments each week to learn these concepts. Digital or film cameras welcome.
