Welcome to the new Batista Moon Studio website. We would like to thank Talino Design www.talinodesign.com for their wonderful design and patience during this process. Robert and Alice Cura have a wonderful way of taking disparate parts of a business identity and finding a visual metaphor for its vehicle.
We invite you to explore our new website and discover what we enjoy doing--being creative photographers and assisting our clients in finding their own visual metaphors for their products and services.
We think you will be interested in the new blog and workshops we are teaching. We plan to add stories of our daily routines that takes us on unexpected adventures.
There is a lot going on this month! We really enjoyed the Jerry Uelsmann Exhibit and Lecture at the Center for Photographic Art on October 8th. This exhibit is a must see for the photographer who still adheres to their B/W darkroom AND the crossover digital photographer who has never really seen what the world looked like before photoshop. I really enjoyed Jerry's lecture. It was wonderful to sit in the dark and journey through a piece of his world and be reassured that film and silver printing is alive and well in many corners of this digital world we live in.
My favorite comment that I could actually have the presence of mind to write down were "Photography is light remembering itself" and "self doubt is part of the creative process". Great stuff!
photography.org to see when and where you can see the exhbit and even better! become a member of the Center for Photographic Art. Great organization!
RENDEZVOUS OCTOBER 14-16 2011
We are off to Rendezvous in King City with Al Weber. Last year I think we looked at 60 some portfolios in 2 days. This year we have just as many I believe or in that neighborhood. Stay tuned for stories from this year.
UPDATE: WE HAD A GREAT GATHERING FROM FARM AND WIDE. WE LOOKED AT ABOUT 43 PORTFOLIOS THIS YEAR AND OUR GROUP WAS SMALLER BUT JUST AS MIGHTY AS YOU CAN SEE BELOW. A FOND FAREWELL FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT US THIS PAST YEAR AND A BIG HELLO TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT COME. THIS PHOTO WAS PROVIDED TO US BY OUR FEARLESS PHOTOGRAPHER EACH YEAR--DON ROGERS. THANK YOU DON!
